The advanced menopause consultation package includes blood tests to look at your current hormone levels and give more detailed guidance on the best prescription for you.
It also includes an ultrasound scan to check on the health of your uterus and ovaries, as well as a follow up appointment to review the success of your treatment.

Advanced Menopause Consultation Package
The Advanced Menopause Package is ideal for patients who want to have a more in-depth assessment of their menopause symptoms. As well as providing guidance and support through treatment like HRT, it also includes blood testing for hormone levels and a screening ultrasound scan of your pelvis. The package includes:
- Consultation with a Specialist Gynaecologist: A one-on-one discussion with a menopause specialist to explore symptoms, health history, and treatment options.
- Symptom Assessment: A detailed review of menopausal symptoms, their impact on daily life, and any related concerns.
- Blood tests: The week before your appointment with Dr Iain you will come to the clinic for some blood tests. These will check your levels of oestradiol, progesterone, testosterone, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinising hormone, prolactin. This blood test also performs a routine check for thyroid.
- Ultrasound scan: At your consultation with Dr Iain he will also perform an ultrasound scan to look at your uterus and ovaries. This will identify any abnormalities.
- HRT Prescription: If deemed appropriate and safe, a tailored prescription for HRT will be provided, considering your individual health needs and preferences. You can either collect this as a private prescription, which will be chargeable at the pharmacy, or you can take the prescription to your own GP to see if they will be willing to prescribe the recommended medication for you.
For patients who want more continuity, we also offer a range of subscription services.
Follow up
This package also includes one follow up appointment after four months to review the results of the treatment plan. This will include:
- Assessment of Treatment Outcomes: Evaluate the effectiveness of the initial treatment approach, including symptom relief and overall health improvements.
- Address Side Effects or Complications: Provide support and solutions for any side effects or complications that may arise during treatment.
This consultation package offers a more comprehensive approach to the menopause, being guided by blood results and scan findings as well as your history and examination findings.
After each appointment, you will be sent a report of our findings along with any suggestions on how to optimise your health going forward. A copy of this will be sent to your GP, with your consent, so they can also have a copy of our findings.
