Can varicose veins cause high blood pressure?

Varicose veins themselves do not cause high blood pressure, but they themselves are caused by venous hypertension, which is high pressure within the veins.
When the valves in the veins fail, blood pools and increases pressure in the affected veins, leading to varicose veins. While this venous hypertension does not directly elevate arterial blood pressure, the two conditions can of course coexist.
If left untreated, varicose veins can cause symptoms like swelling and discomfort, which may indirectly impact overall cardiovascular health.

This is before and just 14 days after laser resurfacing for the lower eyelids. Laser resurfacing is the gold standard for tightening the eyelid skin and removing fine lines and wrinkles under the eyes.

Laser season continues to roll on!
This is another one of our early bird patients who got in for her full field laser right at the end of September so she can recover over the winter months when it`s a bit cooler outside.
She is just 5 weeks after her laser and already got great improvement in her wrinkles, especially above her lip.
She`s over the moon with the result. What do you think?

The hollow upper eyelid - one of the trickiest challenges in eyelid surgery! As well as the eyelids developing excess tissue with age, some people also really lose volume from the eyelid.
In these patients simply removing the skin can look ok and better than before, but it doesn`t necessarily make the eyelid look any more youthful. To really create youth again you need to restore some of the softness, which is exactly what we did for this patient.
This was a joint effort between @bramhallplasticsurgery and myself. Russell did an upper blepharoplasty to remove the excess skin, and I then followed up with some filler below the brow and in the eyelid to give her back the youthful softness.
The patient is literally ecstatic with this result. What do you think?

Now the clocks have changed we are now well and truly into laser season.
This is one of our patients who had full resurfacing just two weeks ago. She`s still a bit red, but already loving her new skin. She told me that she invented a new game called `find the wrinkle`. She`s still looking!
Look at how the lines and wrinkles around the mouth have been erased, as well as the lines and wrinkles on her cheeks, under her eyes and above her eyebrows.
