The effects of ageing on the face

Facial ageing can be challenging, affecting self-esteem and confidence.

Every face ages differently, but common changes include:

  • Loose skin around the jowls
  • Sagging skin on the neck
  • Loss of definition in the facial contours
  • Frown lines on the forehead
  • Lines and wrinkles in the eye area
  • Hooded eyes
  • Loss of volume on the cheeks
  • Unwanted pigmentation
  • Dull, coarse skin texture

Our transformative surgical and non-surgical facelifts address all of these issues.

The Full Facelift

This comprehensive rejuvenation of the face and neck uses surgical and non-surgical procedures to treat different facial and neck conditions caused by ageing.

Conventional facelifts are effective at removing excess skin from the jowls and neck but usually fail to improve the eye area, the forehead, skin texture, and ingrained lines around the mouth.

Our full facelift is the aesthetic antidote, adding procedures for a better,  fuller facial rejuvenation.

The full facelift procedure

During the surgical part of our full facelift, the surgeon makes discreet incisions close to the hairline and in front of the ear.

Loose skin is trimmed away, and the underlying tissues are repositioned to give a smooth, elegant profile.

This deep plane type of facelift surgery ensures that the procedure’s benefits  – the removal of excess skin and tightening of loose skin  – are long-lasting.

However, a surgical procedure alone cannot rejuvenate the entire face or improve the skin’s texture.

Our full facelift perfects the results of facelift surgery by combining it with non-surgical treatments like dermal fillers and laser therapy.

Some patients also choose an additional surgical procedure to refresh their eye area.

The Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift

The deep plane facelift technique used in our surgical facelifts is more advanced and complex than traditional facelifts and requires more surgical expertise.

It is designed to reduce excess tissues from the face and neck, helping patients regain youthful contours.

This procedure significantly impacts the problem of sagging skin on the lower face and will restore definition to the neck.

It will also improve the appearance of the cheeks and midsection of the face.

Deep Plane Facelift Procedure

The surgeon makes incisions around the ears: in front of the earlobe, the crease at the back of the ear and over into the hairline at the back of the ear.

Then, the skin is lifted over the cheek and neck area.

Next, the muscle layer – SMAS –  is lifted as a separate layer and tightened.

A small incision is then made under the chin, helping the surgeon access deeper tissues below the neck muscles, remove excess fat and reshape the muscles.

The skin is then re-draped, excess tissue is removed, and the remainder is expertly stitched together.

Knowing that ‘one size does not fit all’ is vital to the success of our facelift approach.

We tailor everything we do to guarantee your best outcome.

How long is the recovery period after a surgical facelift?

We advise resting for two weeks after surgery to promote healing.

You will be bruised and swollen after surgery, but this will soon subside.

You can help reduce swelling by keeping your head elevated at night.

Simple pain relief is usually sufficient to manage post-operative tenderness.

After two to three weeks, you will be ready for non-surgical treatments, requiring minimal downtime.

When will the full results of the surgical facelift be visible?

A surgical facelift is a process rather than an event.

It involves multiple interventions, and the results will develop as each part is completed.

It may take up to six months for the entire process to be completed.

How long do the benefits of surgical facelifts last?

The benefits of surgical facelifts are long-lasting and can be maintained over time with minor follow-up procedures and cosmetic treatments like Botox and laser. And, of course, taking care of yourself and your skin.

How much does a surgical facelift cost?

The complete facelift and the deep plane face and neck lift procedure, including surgical and non-surgical procedures, cost from £20 000.

The Non-Surgical Facelift

We also provide a non-surgical facelift treatment that combines several procedures to tighten, lift, and smooth the skin without invasive surgery.

The anti-ageing benefits of a non-surgical facelift

The non-surgical facelift can be used to address the following skin concerns.

Loss of volume

The ageing process often results in a loss of volume and youthful plumpness in the face. We use dermal fillers to resculpt the temples, the under-eye area, cheeks, chin and jawline.

Fine lines and wrinkles
Muscle relaxing injections reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and lift drooping features.

Sagging Skin
Skin laxity is a common problem as collagen production slows down with age.

Both radiofrequency and high-intensity focused ultrasound technology are highly effective at tightening the skin and giving it a lifted effect.

Dull, uneven skin tone and texture
Laser therapy and chemical peels rejuvenate skin affected by sun damage, hyperpigmentation and thread veins.

Is any downtime required after a non-surgical facelift?

The downtime will depend on the treatments performed, but one to two weeks may be required to recover from the bruising or mild swelling caused by some of the procedures.

How quickly will the results develop?

Dermal fillers improve the appearance immediately; the benefits of other treatments may take a few weeks to develop.

The non-surgical facelift stimulates tissue collagen production, improving the skin for up to six months.

How long do the benefits last?

The longevity of the non-surgical facelift will vary depending on which combination of treatments have been performed.

For example, skin tightening and rejuvenation benefits can last a year, while muscle relaxing injections require repeat treatments to maintain the desired effect.

How much do non-surgical facelifts cost?

The treatments used in your non-surgical facelift will be chosen from a suite of advanced treatments after extensive discussion with our specialists. The cost will depend on the procedures selected.
