These changes to the eye area are not simply caused by the skin – they are the result of bone and fat loss, resulting in the appearance of bags. Therefore, in order to rejuvenate the under-eye area, we need to support the tissues with careful yet subtle volume restoration. Strategic placement of dermal filler to the mid-face is often the most effective, non-invasive method to doing so – and by supporting the cheek, then blending the junction between the lower-eyelid and the cheek, we can restore energy to the eye area. The most important point, however, is to maintain a masculine shape to the cheek, in order to avoid feminising the face.

Common Questions
What are the benefits?
By restoring volume in the mid face we can reduce the appearance of the bags without surgery. If you chose to add in laser resurfacing, this can also add significantly to the result – without the scars of surgery.
Which anaesthetic is used?
We use dermal fillers which contain a local anaesthetic known as lidocaine, to reduce discomfort. Topical numbing cream is also an option for anxious patients undergoing dermal fillers.
What's the downtime?
The effect of the mid-face filler is instant. The under-eye area is smooth, the upper face looks noticeably more rested, and masculinity is preserved. If you have laser resurfacing as part of the treatment, you can expect to need around 7-10 days for the initial healing period.
When will I see results?
Following treatment with dermal fillers, a sleeker-looking face is instantly revealed – though best results are to be seen in two weeks’ time, when the filler has integrated with the tissues.
With laser resurfacing, you will see initial results in around one week, although it takes several months to appreciate the full, final outcome.
