Bra fat

“Auxillary Puffs” – or Bra Fat – are small bulges that sit at the side of the breasts. While these tiny fat pads are a common part of the female anatomy, they are often genetic, and can be made to appear more prominent following weight gain. By reducing Bra Fat we can not only improve the overall appearance of the décolleté, but we can enhance the fit of the patient’s clothes – while making a significant difference to how the patient feels about their body.

What can help?

CoolSculpting is an effective, non-surgical solution to improving the appearance of Bra Fat. It works by freezing, and therefore destroying, the fat cells (a process referred to as apoptosis or “cell death”), which are then eliminated via the body’s lymphatic system – and once gone, the fat cells do not return.

Common Questions

What are the benefits?

Our tailor-made CoolSculpting plans enable us to slim and shape the back – and we use a variety of different-shaped applicators, which allow us to follow the body’s natural contours. Though the primary function of CoolSculpting is to refine the silhouette, it also has a mild skin tightening effect – a combination that also assists in lessening the appearance of slack tissue and bra fat.

Which anaesthetic is used?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment, and therefore requires no anaesthetic. A cold gel pad will be applied to the area to be treated, ensuring that skin is protected from the extreme cold; however, once the treatment begins, the area quickly becomes numb – so any sensation is minimal.

What's the downtime?

There is very little downtime with CoolSculpting, and most patients are ready to resume their normal activities straight after treatment. Some might experience tingling, redness or slight bruising in the area treated; however, this is normal and usually subsides in the following weeks.

When will I see results?

The full effects of CoolSculpting take up to three months to be seen – the time taken for the body to eliminate the fat cells – however, some patients notice a reduction in stubborn fat pockets even sooner. While the fat cells cannot return to the treated area, it is important that you maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle – for a sustainable, and long-lasting result.
